I have been practicing expressive arts therapy for over 20 years. I have gained experience while working in different community clinics, school settings, a college counseling center and hospital settings.
I earned my first degree as a therapist in the Universidad de Buenos Aires. I later earned my Masters degree in Expressive Arts Therapies and Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University.
I have lived in Barcelona, Spain for a couple of years where I had my practice and taught in 'Metafora', a pioneering art therapy school.
As an adjunct faculty of Lesley University, I have developed and teach a studio class in Intermodal Expressive Arts Therapies, where I am constantly learning and feel inspired by students, their inquires and their willingness to take risks through art.
I enjoy working with a variety of populations: mostly children, young adults, adults and families.
Having been born in Argentina, and being an immigrant myself - I bring my experience, insight and understanding when working with people from different countries and cultures.
My style has been described as warm, engaging, spiritual and focused on people's strengths.
I am passionate about life and work, specially bringing creativity and creative thinking into whatever it is I do.
I believe counseling is a collaborative work and I tailor my approach to the needs of the people I am working with. I am eclectic in my philosophy, drawing from the person centered approach, psychoanalysis, the creative arts, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral approaches and internal family systems approach. I am interested in helping people sustain the changes they want to see in their lives by finding the right balance of support as well as challenge.
